A great poet,Henley,wrote many years ago,"I am the master of my fate,I am the captain of my soul".He didn't tell us why we are the master of our fate and the captain of our soul.Being a poet and not a philosopher,he was only able to state a universal truth in his poem.The only factor that has never failed to push men to great heights is their thought.The immediate consequence of this is that;Negative thoughts attracts negative things while positive thoughts attracts positive things.In other words,your thoughts can make or break you.
However,if you allow only positive thoughts to constantly reside in your mind,then you are paving a sure way to success.Great men actually became great because they once had great thoughts.
Many years ago,Mr. Henry Ford decided to produce his famous V-8 model.He wanted to build an engine with the entire eight cylinders cast in one block.He instructed his engineers to produce a design for the engine.The design was placed on paper but the engineers later reached a consensus that it was simply impossible.Mr. Ford did n't believe that anything could be impossible,so he instructed his engineers to produce it anyway.He told his engineers to stay on the job until they succeeded.Six months went by,nothing happened.Another six months passed,nothing again.At the end of the year,Mr. Ford checked with his engineers but they told him that they had found no way to carry out his orders.Mr. Ford could have thought that he had conceived a ridiculous and impracticable idea.He might have let go after a whole year had been wasted on what his engineers labelled,"impossible".
However,Mr. Ford would not let go inspite of the unfavourable circumstances.He would never admit that it was impossible as his engineers had said.He was willing to spend more years on this project."Go right ahead",he said,"I want it and I will have it".The engineers went ahead as Mr. Ford had commanded them.Then just like magic,they discovered the secret that had so much eluded them and they produced the V-8 motor.
Mr. Ford formed a positive picture of the V-8 motor in his mind not minding whatever his engineers would call him and he made it.Anything that the human mind can believe,it can also achieve it.You can also make your thought work for you.
