HOW WISE ARE YOUR DECISIONS?

A careful survey of about twenty-five thousand men and women who had experienced failure disclosed that lack of decision was near the head of the list of the major causes of failure.Procrastination, which is the opposite of decision, must be conquered before there could be any headway.

On the other hand, analysis of several hundred people who had accumulated wealth also disclosed the fact that every one of them had formed the habit of reaching decisions quickly. They have also formed the habit of either not changing those decisions or changing them slowly as the occasion seem to demand.

One of Mr. Henry Ford's most outstanding qualities was his ability to reach decisions quickly and definitely, then changing those decisions slowly,if at all. This quality was so outstanding that people sometimes referred to him as being obstinate. It was this same quality that prompted Mr. Ford to continue to manufacture his famous Model T(the world's ugliest car),when all his friends and purchasers were urging him to change it.Mr. Ford delayed in changing the model and it yielded him a huge fortune, before the change in model became inevitable.

It is a well known fact that majority of people who fail to accumulate wealth are people who can be easily influenced by the opinions of others. They permit gossiping neighbours and newspapers to do their thinking for them.Opinions are the cheapest commodities on earth.Almost everyone has a flock of opinions ready to be shared with people who do not have opinions of their own.If you allow yourself to be influenced by the opinions of others, you will also have no desire of your own.

You have a brain and a mind of your own.You can use them to achieve anything you want if only you could make wise and definite decisions.Your present status right now is the sum of all the decisions that you have ever made.It would then be easy to cross-examine yourself by asking,"Is this where I ought to be and what I ought to be doing?"If your answer to this question of a similar question is negative, then start making changes.
